The OUT&about Wānaka Charitable Trust is gearing up for another exciting year of celebrating love, diversity, and inclusion
As OUT&about Wānaka continues to grow and evolve, we’ve made the decision to host our full Wānaka Pride Week and Pride Street Party every second year, with our next full Pride celebration returning in 2027.
This change will help ensure our events remain sustainable for our volunteers, trustees, community and planet, while allowing us to keep creating events that bring people together and make Wānaka a more welcoming place for our rainbow community.
That said, we couldn’t let 2026 pass without bringing our community together.
Join us on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 September for a weekend of dancing, laughing and celebrating, with Drag Bingo, a Community Day and Pride After Dark.
This year’s Community Day will be a smaller, relaxed gathering rather than the large-scale Wānaka Pride Street Party many of you have come to know and love. While the format may look a little different, the spirit of Pride remains the same.

Pride After Dark:
blacklight ✨ disco ✨ sensual ✨ mayhem
Some nights are meant for the archives. This is one of them.
Pride After Dark returns to rewrite the rules of the evening. We are pulling the curtains, turning up the heat, and stepping into a world where heavy disco meets pure magnetism under the glow of the blacklight.
We are here for the bassline, the movement, and the absolute magic that happens when this crowd gets together.
Three DJs holding the room in the palm of their hands.
The Artists: Drag, burlesque, pole, and gogo talent commanding the stage all night.
The Centerpiece: The Southern Hemisphere’s biggest disco ball.* (Unverified by Guinness, but we dare someone to come challenge us).
The Unknown: A few surprise elements we’re keeping under wraps until the lights go down.
